The week before Christmas, biggest Snowfall
Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10:38AM For December here at the Mansion of the Cookenstein, todays snowfall may rank up as one of the biggest of recorded history. Or at least in the top 10. By early 8 am this morning we already had more than a foot with at least another 14 inches or more to come. I love this time of year, and not because of it's holiday, but for exactly this type of weather. This is the gift. Oh yeah, I'll be singing the blues when I have to shovel the driveway tomorrow, but for now, it just looks perfect.
I shot a couple of photos with the Nikon D-80 today, and one of my growing favorite lenses in the arsenal is this sigma 18-200mm lens.

Early Wednesday Morning ( 3 days later ) in a few moments, as I get ready to drive out at 4:30 am,, to head south for a couple of days. The ice still covers many of the side streets and thankfully I shoveled on Sunday and the driveway is clear.
It has pretty much been freezing or below since the storm so much of the snow is still around and will be for days ahead. Shopping mall parking lots are a mess and getting around is still not safe.
