It is a tough thing when you travel as much as I do to establish a Gym routine, but I try.

That said, I have been pretty poor about it over the past 3 or so weeks. Gotta get back on the horse.

June and now Summer

A month since my last post, and I am down to 194 and feeling a bit better and a bit more tone. The Gym has finally started to become a steady regimen again. The days of running 20 or more miles a week are likely over. At least for the forseeable future. However 6 or so and some Gym days may be the balance I am looking for.

It's a lifelong thing

In 2005 I started on a trek to lose about 50 pounds that would take me to my weight in 1991 of 195#. I was close to 250 at the time in March of 2005. A little more than a year later I got down to 174. Far exceeding my goal and arguably a little lighter than I needed to be. Today I am at 192 and would be happy to stay between 180-185.

Last year I had a back related injury that took me out of my regimen. I started running less, and stopped going to the gym entirely. this led to more frequent poor eating habits again, and recently saw my weight balloon to about 204, and feeling every bit of it. The past 2 weeks I have been back on track, and as I head to the gym in about 30 minutes, can only repeat the worn out phrase....Weight loss and good eating, and sleep is not something you do for awhile to achieve a weight loss goal. It's lifelong. Now I just have to teach myself to remember it.

Back in the Gym

So long overdue, but after a long weekend of client catering it's time for some me time with the barbells

Spring around the corner

Follow up from the fall down of my running, excersize regimen.

The first run of September

Wow, what a summer. the hottes that I can remember. Since February my routine both working out and running has fallen through the floor since my back issue. While that problen was finally cleared up in May, the heat has added a major deterrent to long runs this year, and on top of that, I just don't seem to have the juice that I did last year. By August I had cracked 100 miles on three different months. This year I am barely averaging 50 miles a month.

But I make excuses. I really need to get some upper body work in. My miles have lessened this year, and I think that putting aside the back problems earlier in the year,, I have completely fallen out of gym routines.

Eating right

I recently finished a book by Michael Pollan called, "in defense of Food" My eating habits are as poor as ever.
I was amazed by the information I'd read about in this book, and highly recommend to anyone who wants to change their eating habits and lifestyle.

June around the corner

It is hard to believe that Summer is official this weekend, and we are almost halfway through 2010. Given my rough start this year due to several health related problems it is a wonder I am even still close to last years run totals.

These past 2 weeks though have seen me getting back over an average of 15+ miles a week, and while this is good, I need to include an upper body work out regimen again too. I am eating a bit better which helps, but the late night snack crap has to be capped. At least to once or twice a week as opposed to nightly.

One thing after another

Ear care
