Wellness

The posts below will elaborate thoughts geared towards food, health and technology. This page for me comes from my changes made in my own life from a standpoint of major weight loss which started in 2006 when I weighed in at 248# and where I ended a year later at 174#. It was one of the hardest things I had done personally in many years.

While my weight management is now ongoing and part of my life focus now, I also keep in tune with the Nutrilite program. These are very high end excellent quality vitamins and supplements. I urge you to look up Nutrilite online to see for yourself. It has been an incredible help in my energy levels general well being and weight management program all the way around. The Double X Multivitamins are by far the best of all.  I am living proof of almost 2 years of using these products now. If you have any interest in them, please check the links here. I strongly urge taking the wellness Quiz. If you need to contact me for more information please email me from the site here at Cookenstein, or to simply set up an a secure account as a customer of mine, use the IBO number (5396179) during the registration process.  Or if you have any questions, or comments about my business, and want to fin out more, please click on my contact link here.

The Gym and Procrastination

I have a membership at a local Golds gym in Crofton, and ovwer the past couple of months have until recently attended as many as 3 times a week. It is a tough thing when you travel as much as I do to establish a Gym routine, but I try.

That said, I have been pretty poor about it over the past 3 or so weeks. Gotta get back on the horse.

June and now Summer

A month since my last post, and I am down to 194 and feeling a bit better and a bit more tone. The Gym has finally started to become a steady regimen again. The days of running 20 or more miles a week are likely over. At least for the forseeable future. However 6 or so and some Gym days may be the balance I am looking for.

It's a lifelong thing

In 2005 I started on a trek to lose about 50 pounds that would take me to my weight in 1991 of 195#. I was close to 250 at the time in March of 2005. A little more than a year later I got down to 174. Far exceeding my goal and arguably a little lighter than I needed to be. Today I am at 192 and would be happy to stay between 180-185.

Last year I had a back related injury that took me out of my regimen. I started running less, and stopped going to the gym entirely. this led to more frequent poor eating habits again, and recently saw my weight balloon to about 204, and feeling every bit of it.  The past 2 weeks I have been back on track, and as I head to the gym in about 30 minutes, can only repeat the worn out phrase....Weight loss and good eating, and sleep is not something you do for awhile to achieve a weight loss goal. It's lifelong.  Now I just have to teach myself to remember it.

Spring around the corner

Age is catching up. Not to say I have given up by no means, however the running I had been doing since 2009 was and is simply not sustainable, to my body or health. I ran just a few miles short of 1000 in 2009 and from there down to just over 600 in 2010.

This year I am on pace to maybe hit 300 at the pace I am going, but would like to get to 500 if possible. That coupled with mixing the runs with some upper body lifting workouts which I do way too little of. To say the least I fell off what was a successful routine, and my eating took over for the past several months. In recognition of this, I am making efforts to change and get back to it. This past week I ran for more than 12 miles which is a first for this year likely. It's hard to believe I was running about 30 miles a week sometimes only a short year or so ago.
